Get To Know The Artist/Crafter Series - Helen of PeggyCrafts

I've been a lover of felt dolls and felt crafts for a very long time and love the fact that needle felting, as well as felt crafts in general are making such a huge comeback in the crafting community. I think that's great and just love all the new applications for felt like cupcakes, pin cushions, candy, cell phone cases, etc.

For me there has always been something genuinely cheery about dolls and animals made out of felt. And, you could say the same thing about felt flowers like the Mrs. Flowers pictured below. Every time I look at that picture I can't help but smile. They are just so adorable and are the creations of Helen of PeggyCrafts.

Helen makes the Mrs. Flowers that are shown below, as well as a variety of felt crafts. She makes keychains, felt decorations, cell phone cases, I-Pod cases, card toppers, bags, and plant decorations. All out of felt and all adorable.

I hope you enjoy Helen's "Get To Know The Artist/Crafter Series" interview.

1) What age were you when your creative talent first appeared?

About 2, I think! I used to enjoy drawing, painting and helping my mum cut out clothes patterns. When I was little, I wanted to be either a pilot or a knitter (well I've achieved one of the two!)

2) What was your very first creation?

I was a painter for a long time, before finding my niche with felt & fabric!

3) What types of items do you create?

I make felt & fabric decorations, ornaments, keyrings, brooches etc., as well as make-your-own kits for children who are interested in learning to sew. I am now branching out into home furnishings.

4) What has been your favorite creation and why?

Mrs. Flower! They're just so cute!

5) What has been your most difficult creation and why?

It was difficult learning to use my new sewing machine, so I guess you could say that my most tricky items to make are the ones which then had tangled up cotton attached to them!

6) What type of arts & crafts haven't you learned to do yet that you would love to try?

I've only just started knitting, which I'm really enjoying, but I wish I could do it a bit faster! I'm also keen to learn to crochet.

7) Is there any particular art or craft you dislike and why?

I can't think of any..I just love handmade things in general, they have so much more character.

8) What is the name and URL of your blog(s)?

PeggyCrafts....hello! at www.peggycrafts.blogspot.com

9) When did you start to blog and why did you create your blog?

I have been blogging for a few months now, and I did it so that I could write about my latest creations and spread the Mrs. Flower joy with my readers.

10) What do you blog about?

Mostly my crafts, but I also like to keep people updated on what I've been up to.

11) What would you like your blog readers to know about you and your creations?

I just love felt and fabric! If you have any questions or need a custom item, just contact me through my blog.

12) What is the name and URL of your website(s)?

PeggyCrafts at www.peggycrafts.co.uk

13) What would you like everyone to know about your website(s)?

Everything on my website is handmade and designed by me and is unique. I love crafting and hope to share my creations with as many people as possible. :)
